if you want to make your ss tape permanent then get the pipe you need and 1/2 inch threaded fitting and take it to one of those ss fence shops they will cut and weld for very little cost to get you going. then keep an eye out as there are many ss shops that do food grade stuff cheaply. just keep your eyes open and you will start to see them!

I also failed to find a 1/2 BSP backnut for a ss tap for my 50 L boiler.
At the moment I dont need to boil though as got 4 extract kits to make first.
I will try some more hardware stores when I go into Pattaya later today
Given up drinking due to health reasons
