Cheers Lee, the recipe isnt finalised yet so will take that into consideration. Gonna get onto brewmate and start planning.

40l is ok, its best to get a bigger one because you'll probably want to brew bigger batches later, I have a 5 gallon mash tun but wish it was larger

I will get you the recipe once I get home as it is in a book there. AG is definitely the way to go

OK,thanks for the advice.
So I will need a through fitting with a tap and some sort of strainer on the inside rather like you mentioned,a copper pipe with holes drilled.
What about a false bottom ?
Given up drinking due to health reasons

I fyou make a manifold from copper pie,you wont need a false bottom mate. The easiest way is,a cloth bag inside the mash-tun,like I use. That way if need be, you can just pull on it to release some more wort :D
Drinking: 3 way Belgian split/CPC

If your choosing between a false bottom or copper manifold then go for the false bottom. They are excellent and Ive never had a stuck mash yet.... or you can do it the same way as Lee suggests.
